T’s & C’s

My expectations

These are some basic ‘ground-rules’ that I expect my pupils & their parents to follow if undertaking lessons with me:

  • Piano lessons are a commitment on both sides – I expect pupils to turn up on time with a notebook, a sharp pencil and a sharp mind.
  • I expect parents to help out with learning where they can & at the very least try to create a daily practice regime and a positive practice environment.
  • Due to sensitivities to fragrances, I try to create as fragrance-free environment as possible.  My business is also my home and I expect that to be respected.

The finance side

  •  I request one week up-front payment. Some people prefer to pay for a batch of lessons in-line with school terms which is also encouraged.
  • I accept the following methods of payment for lessons; bank transfer, cheque or cash.
  • Cancellation – I ask for 24 hours notice if unable to attend a lesson and, providing this has been adhered to, the advance payment gets rolled onto following week. Otherwise this will be the cancellation fee, which is equivalent to the usual lesson price. See prices page.
  • If I have to cancel a lesson, I will endeavor to offer another time slot that week if available. If there are no mutually acceptable time slots, any advanced payments will be rolled on to cover the next lesson.
  • Any books/material provided in the lesson by myself for the pupils own consumption (i.e. for use exclusively by the individual) is due payable at the cover price within 24 hours of it being issued to the pupil.
  • I reserve the right to refuse lessons which have not been paid for, for persistent late payment, and outstanding cancellation/material charges
  • Increases to lesson fees will be notified in writing, via the website, in any event 1 week prior to the increase taking place, the increase will not apply to any advanced fee payments already received.
